Just recently started a job in Garland right by the Baylor campus around Shiloh and Walnut. I'm trying to find the best city streets to drive on when heading to either Central or G. Bush. I commute from up north (Allen/McKinney area) each day and I wanted to see if anyone could recommend the best route through Garland to either G. Bush or Central. Right now, I am driving up Shiloh to G. Bush everyday and then up to Central. Any advise would be helpful.

Shiloh is your best bet. Even in rush hour Shiloh always seems to have about the same amount of traffic it does in non rush hour. For some reason most people just don't use Shiloh as a thru street for commuting. I do . Using N. Garland Ave would push you too far to the east and thru a lot of traffic and lights. Jupiter gets a lot of traffic as well and so does Plano Pkwy, these two probably see the most traffic out of all the options going north/south.

Totally agree with Mom. Shiloh is your best bet. You do not want to come in off of 75. Just not as quick or nice a drive.

On a side note - Up Shiloh and east on Buckingham will take you to Siciliano's - Taste of Italy. Across from N Garland HS. Very yummy. And the garlic rolls are to die for.

Also agree with Mom.

Ugh. I think Garland is a fantastic city, and I spend a lot of time there. But driving all the way through it is a chore and takes FOREVER. I swear the stoplights in Garland take longer than anywhere else in DFW. I feel your pain.
