We just moved to Plano and are interested in private schools. My child is going into the eighth grade. What are the feeder schools for John Paul II. Which school is a better school.

John Paul is fairly new. I think this will be its 3rd year this year. It's very academic and I have heard folks are happy with it. The campus is great. It's the only Catholic high school north of 635. I'm guessing they are pulling from Catholic schools in Plano and Richardson and from Plano public schools. The one kid I know who goes there lives in the Allen ISD attendance zone. I'm in Far North Dallas and I see kids around here who attend it, as well, and I live in the Richardson ISD.

I think they expected to open with more students. They are underenrolled, but each year they get more kids.

I don't know anything about Legacy. I would consider location of the two schools and if you'd rather have your kids in a Christian school or a Catholic school. If you go over to the frisco online forum there are parents of kids at Legacy who post there. Maybe they can offer insight for that school.

There was an article back in late May/early June about the first graduating class of JPII. Definately sounds like a nice school, they have a low student to teacher ratio.

I am a current John Paul II student, and I am VERY happy with the school. Now in its third year, JP2 has an enrollment of almost 600 students. JP2 has some of the best academics in the metroplex, with 100% of its AP classes certified.

I know John Paul II has the brightest future with great teachers and a determined administration. I strongly encourage any parent who wants their child to receive a solid Catholic education with superb academics, a solid sports program, and moral guidance to come visit JP2 for themselves.

Some of JP2's feeder schools: St. Mark's, Plano; All Saint's, Dallas; Prince of Peace, Plano; St. Monica, Dallas; St. Rita, Dallas.
