They are not. They are just writing b.s. posts to brag and frankly, I wouldn't...$200k is really not that big a deal...you still live a fairly normal middle class lifestyle. It's not like champagne and blinis and caviar and Bentleys or anything. More like a Tahoe and a Shiner Bock.

You're living there for 200k. That's all. Not flossing. Not impressing the guy that's never flown on a jet that could leave without him. You get to the peak of the mountain (200k) and only then have a view of the even taller peaks in the distance.

“Wake up pal, if you’re not inside you’re outside. And I’m not talking a $200,000 a year working Wall Street stiff flying first class and being “comfortable”, I’m talking rich pal, rich enough to fly your own jet, rich enough not to waste time, 50-100 million, a player Bud – or nothing.”

Who making $200k is flying first class? You'd have to be a moron or someone with a lot of airlines miles/work miles to upgrade.

Wall Street was written in the 80's. 200k was a different sum of money then.

I agree. The income cut offs for the various marginal tax rates should be much higher.

I know 200k was different then. It's a huge sum of money for most today. But it's relative in HP/UP. And I fly coach unless the company is picking up the tab - which is still coach/

Hi RandMcNally. I would be very interested in hearing where you end up living. My husband and I are moving to Dallas later this summer from overseas, as well. And we have similar income levels and similar concerns about the "snootiness" of some of the towns/neighborhoods. Good luck figuring it out!

Snootiness generally runs north from downtown along Preston Road (YES THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS). The touts of old used to call that "The Golden Corridor" then I think some Real Estate office around Campbell Road way up north starting calling that stretch "Platinum" to one-up the hype. Come over east of 75, most of us don't care about that and it's amusing to observe those addlepated alchemists.
