Or at least that is how I feel. My husband is an alcoholic and I can not watch him destroy himself and everything around him. All my money was invested in the house we bought. What can I do to move out and get a place of my own??????? I can afford 500-700 a month but I don't want to live where its unsafe. I need help......

You can get a studio apartment, even some one bedrooms for below $700 a month in most Collin County cities. Check around McKinney, there are some really good deals that start out around $6-700 a month in some fairly nice areas. Several around the El Dorado exit east and west of central expwy. Just finished helping my niece look for some apartments around Collin County Community college so I know you'll be able to find a few that'll be nice and safe for you.

Btw, I'm not sure where you want to be located but, the prices even get cheaper out towards fort worth. I just said McKinney/Allen because you requested safety, and I know without a doubt that most of the new ones up there are safe.

Good Luck, I feel for you

This recently happened to a friend of mine. She was able to find a 1-bedroom in a relatively new community in Plano (where she works) with a garage for around $750 that accepts her cats and has an in-apartment washer/dryer. She found others, but this was the closest to work AND with the garage it was a bonus. It's also gated. I guess the question is where do you work and go from there.

Hey Nothe,

Familiar with Al-Anon? They are the "other side" of Alcoholics Anonymous. Might be some helpful stuff for you in that.
