I have recently had two episodes (four months apart) that I feel certain are ovarian cysts. Both of my sisters have problems with this, and I never have until this year (I am 23). I just thought I got lucky I guess. Anyways, I have never gone to an official OBGYN....always just went to a GP for my regular check ups, etc. Anyways, to make a long story short, I absolutely do not trust my GP, which is why I am not going to ask them for a good referral.

(I am actually currently in the market for a new GP as well if anyone has any suggestions.)

Does anyone have problems with ovarian cysts and have a really great doctor they can recommend? I don't have the best insurance in the world, but this time the pain from the cysts was so bad I realized I have to find a good doctor and get some tests run and also get on a pain management system in case this happens again.

Thanks to all for your answers.

Often times GPs are wrong. It would be easier to recommend a doctor based on where you live. What area of town are you in?

Hi Alexis,

I suggest you ask friends or co-workers (if not this board) with suggestions. Everyone's experience with a doctor is different. I've had a similar situation and went to three doctors before one finally figured out what was wrong with me.

You can also PM me with the names of the doctors I saw and my opinions.
