Ours was $366.00 but that is gas & electric combined and was our highest AC bill ever. Our yearly average is under $200 per month and that includes gas. I have some strong advice for those of you in homes 3000sqft and above. For the master bedroom, you can buy a portable AC unit. No, not the window units you see in trailer parks... but a nice portable one. We keep our bedroom between 64-67 degrees and the rest of the house is at 77. Without the portable AC, we would have to put our main AC a lot lower than 77 so we could sleep through the night.. but the problem with that is you are AC'ing the whole house when you only need it in your bedroom. Portable AC unit... once you get it, you will wonder why you didn't have it before.

My last bill was $384 for a 2,200 house. Thermostat says at 78 degrees since wife and son are at home during the summer. Had a new unit installed a month ago and because of the lower SEER rating I thought my bill would be cheaper. Seems it is about the same as it was last year. I have come to the conclusion to accept the raping by the electric company three months out of the year.

We just got our last bill and it was $558. Ouch. They should start coming down soon though. We'll be looking into a portable unit. No sense in cooling a bunch rooms overnight, when we only need to cool three bedrooms.

Mine was $136 in a small house. I keep it on 80 with a shop fan blowing on me during the hottest part of the day, 75 in the evening, and 72 just before I crash out. I also have vents to certain rooms closed.

$120 for a 780 sq ft apartment on the 2nd (top) floor above a garage. I keep it around 78 during the day, and 75 at night. My complext requires us to use a company, so unable to shop for the best rate.

Our garage apartment tenants' last bill was around $200 for a 700 sq ft apartment. I only know because the electric company sends both bills in one envelope.
