Define more culture.

Texas has just as much culture as California, its just more "in your face" out there because it is a gateway state from the Pacific & also borders Mexico.

Every ethnic group that is out there is represneted in some form or fashion here too.

Dallas' diversity gets watered down because its all found in the far flung suburbs versus LA where diversity is everywhere you look in the city proper & suburbs.

Perfect weather? Have you lived in LA, or Southern California for that matter? The weather is more moderate than Texas, but perfect? No. I lived in San Diego for almost 30 years, and even that wasn't perfect (and is better than LA weather wise).

I would agree on beaches, mountains, more culture (not all better though).

Well, no actually.

Like Dallas, most of LA's diversity is also in the suburbs.

Most might be a bit strong. Their Chinatown and Little Tokyo are in what is considered downtown. I haven't been in downtown Dallas enough to judge whether or not there's much diversity there, but downtown LA definitely has quite a bit. Not that I'd want to live there.....

Dallas doesn't have a Chinatown or Little Tokyo near its downtown.

The only recognized ethnic district Dallas has is a Korea Town several miles west of downtown in a ran down warehouse district & even that is nothing to write home about. The food is decent however. Not an area I would feel totally safe venturing into at night alone.

Regardless, there are virtually no Japanese people living in Little Tokyo so its irrelevant. Most of the Chinese are in the San Gabriel Valley and not in the Chinatown in LA. Even in Koreatown in LA, most Koreans live in the burbs.

My point is that most of LA's diversity is in the burbs and it is. Take it from the guy whole lived there for 24 years. I didnt say there was no diversity in LA, but there is more in the burbs and Long Beach per capita. Its the same with Dallas, Atlanta, and Washington DC. Its not totally apples to apples because LA is one of the most multicultural places in the world. No other place besides NYC, Toronto, and the Bay Area comes close in North America.
