Hi All,
Happy New year and thanks for all i have read about Garland TX, both good and bad. I am appreciative of the fact that we derive insights about a place we intend to move to through this website and i will love to get some of those unbiased and honest responses to my request.I know there are crimes, Gang activities anywhere and anytime throughout the country , and there are areas people will advice that you stay away from due to their huge presence . However, which areas are considerably safe to raise little kids, affordable rent for few months (to settle before buying a house), not in a major city but still close to shopping and other necessities. An area that is family oriented, diverse ethnicity...that someone will live by the day and come home feeling safe and peace of mind. We (my wife, I and little kids)are thinking of relocating to Garland soon, but still confused reading about East side, North side...which areas are are East, North etc and what are their differences. What are job opportunities for social workers? Daycare cost, etc. Thanks

North Garland is a great area- every city or town has good and bad. Surrounding cities are nice too.

Consider:
Wylie
Sachse
Garland
Rowlett
Murphy

North Garland area has a very nice Firewheel Mall area that a lot of new businesses will be setting up in the coming years due to the completion of the toll extention.

Good luck to you.
