I once took a year long break from a message board when I realized I really HAD become that guy!

Also, Myers-Briggs says I'm an INTJ. "Lord keep me open to others' ideas, WRONG though they may be." http://www.bouldertherapist.com/html...ersbriggs.html

And yeah, also a huge xkcd fan.

Absolutely 100% not true.

NO ONE is "denied" at Parkland. That's the whole point. What Collin County is doing is shameful.

WRONG.

Parkland absorbs approximately $20 million per year in unpaid bills from suburban(read NOT DALLAS COUNTY) residents.

Hospitals that accept Medicare or Medicaid cannot deny treatment due to inability to pay.

You think this is a crackpot source? Then check out ICLEI'S website. Dallas is already connected with ICLEI and ICLEI is already influencing your city. Here's just a bit of what they are planning below. Living green is not all (PR)ICLEI has in mind! You need to read this and the rest of their website and you'll see what I mean.

I think the city of Dallas needs a lot of work before it's urban core is liveable - I agree with whomever said that Dallas is a giant suburb, not a city, so really what's the difference? I checked into living near downtown, it's nearly impossible without a car, and if you still have to have a car, then in my opinion living downtown vs a suburb isn't any different.

I think the inner ring suburbs are failing because rather than revitalizing existing areas [where current residents live], they are pushing all their growth to the corners and margins where there is empty land. Dallas just built a giant bridge to do the same thing. Richardson is doing the same thing, Plano is doing the same thing, so they will all be in the same boat, just at different times in the future.

I would argue that Richardson is working on revitalizing existing areas.
