We have sold our home back in FL and we are on the home hunt in Frisco. We are going out this weekend and the homes we are looking at are in the following neighborhoods:

The Trails
The Fairways
Lone Star Ranch
Cheyanne Village

does anyone know anything about these neighborhoods that would be beneficial during our search? We have 2 Elem age children and DH's commute is to Love Field. I am not asking for recommendations of other neighborhoods, just info on the ones listed.

Thanks!

Issues near The Trails.

Though resolved, interesting times in Frisco Fairways.

The lots all over Frisco are unacceptably small in my opinion.

The neighborhoods you mention are fantastic options if you are spending under about $250,000 and want to keep homeowners costs low.You will pay some of the lowest property taxes in the metroplex and have a small yard. I see nothing wrong with that. I think The Trails would be the best option out of all 4 but would be concerned about the huge apartment complex coming in right next to the neighborhood. If the apartment complex was not coming ,the Trails would be a great choice in my opinion.

If you are spending over $250,000 I would not strongly suggest any of those. Moderator cut: off-topic

Default Fairways.

We moved from California in June into a house in the Fairways. Good Neighborhood and Good schools. Yard size is fine (less to water!). Drive to Love Field is probably 1 Hour+ in prime time. Good Luck on the move!

The homes we are looking at are between $270K and $330K. Is that a bad idea in those neighborhoods? Moderator cut: orphaned Are we better off paying around $320K and staying in W. Plano in an older home but better commute????

Just a note: Little Elm doesn't want the apartments either.

I think that only you could be the judge of that. I'm not sure even what I might do in that situation, though I'd think quite a bit about it, and probably settle in West Plano, or even farther South, closer to Love Field.

I don't know anything about the schools in West Plano or Richardson, though. Frisco, I hear, has fine schools.
