What brought you to Dallas in the first place? What do you like and dislike about living in Dallas? How does living in Dallas compare to living in Florida? Do you ever regret relocating to Dallas?

Your responses will be greatly appreciated.

I was recruited to Dallas from Tampa a couple years ago so a career opportunity brought me to Dallas.
Overall, I have found Dallas to have a higher cost of living but that's mainly due to the nature of the area and not really related to the actual cost of goods/services. There are just a lot more places to spend your money here I guess.

In Tampa, the beaches were minutes away instead of hours, master planned communities in top school districts were far more affordable with better amenities and I could swim in my pool 9 months out of the year. On the downside, property insurance was problematic, you couldn't swim in the lakes, there was a severe lack of career advancement in the design industry and I travel quite a bit for pleasure so driving out of Florida took a good percentage of the time which meant relying only on Orlando or Tampa airports to get anywhere.

I don't regret relocating at all.

Miss the Miami beaches and the whole tropical feeling. Like the nicer attitudes, slightly lower cost of living, wider employment possibilities, being in the center of the country so just about anywhere in the continental US is about 3 hours away by plane, and better Asian food. No regrets.
