What are the best second hand stores in the Dallas area? Im so tired of goodwill, they never have anything. Back home we had some of the best thrift stores. I have yet to find one here.

You can find good things occasionally at the big Salvation Army store on Inwood in Dallas. Also, Genesis Women's Shelter runs a good store in Oak Lawn.

For clothes, Clothes Circuit on Sherry Lane in UP is great for high end designer & Banana/JCrew/Ann Taylor-type women's clothes and accessories. Usually about 60-80% off retail and in excellent condition. I have seen many brand new/ never worn/ still with tags items there.

Depends what you're looking for. Clothing? Furniture? Bric-a-brac?

Clothing you might try B&B at Coit & Arapaho (SE corner) or Clotheshorse at Preston & Forest (SW corner.)
Furniture---try Nicole's Estate Resale on Beltline just east of Preston.

I find better, much less expensive items at garage sales in middle class neighborhoods.

We've had great luck with estate sales. You can find just about anything, and negotiate like crazy. And it's fun.

If you're into the unusual to downright bizarre, or even if you just have an hour to kill, I recommend Dolly Python on Haskell.
