First time home buyer here!
Are there any pros and cons to buying the lot (marked X in the image)? The builder told me that there are no houses being built next to it so there is going to be only one neighbor, and more privacy. Can you folks think of anything else? It is not exactly a corner lot as there are is only one road going thru it.

Will the land behind this ever be developed? You don't want that quiet street to back up to a Walmart Suprcenter.

If the land stays vacant, you will most likely always have field mice in your home...

Thanks for the reply!

The solid black line behind the lot (top) is the community border. The land beyond that is zoned for residential purposes and is vacant for now. The area between the solid line and the dotted line is going to remain vacant forever.

We're considering the lot marked X or the one right next to it. Unable to decide.

Is field mice going to be a huge issue?

Why would they leave that lot empty? Water retention going there? Community park/pool going there? Selling the lots to another builder? It makes no sense, with the limited information, as to why the remaining street would be left vacant.

Always gotta ask why and what if. Usually the last lot is either the worst lot or the most expensive.

Agreed, it looks like enough room for at least 2-3 more lots?

I remember he said something about building a water overflow structure. Not sure what exactly that means.
Here's a larger picture of the surrounding area -

Future land use..You want to know what every square inch within eye sight of that home will be used for. Don't just assume you are safe because its zoned residential.
