I am planning on relocating from Las Vegas to Dallas Tx with my Kids in Dec. Please, what do I do first, move and get a job or get a job first befor moving? I am an Insurance Agent and I am also into public relations and Entertainment. What will be my best career move in dallas? What part of dallas has good schools and affordable home rental?
Please I need good feed backs.
Thank You.

Hello,

Your budget will be a primary question in addition to the type of school and neighborhood your requesting assistance in finding.

There are plenty of good schools and neighborhoods that would fit your needs.
It would help to have the job first then find a rental within a twenty mile limit of
where your office will be located.
Unless you have a particular need to be out in the outskirts of the city or out in a rural area. I think you would find the Frisco, Plano, McKinney as the areas that
seem to be very popular in the Collin County area of North Texas.
You can view the first entry in the Dallas forum that attempt to answer or have plenty of links for first time movers.

Do not move here without a job. Our unemployment is lower than Nevada's, but it is still significant.

The metro area is HUGE and if you live on one side and commute to the other, you will waste a lot of time in your car and spend $$$ on gas.

Ditto this! And, you will need to earn a significant salary just to afford the higher cost of childcare here, especially with four children.

Please, really do some serious research on this before moving and DO have a job beforehand.

Best of luck to you and yours!
