I love CM. And if you check, not all items are more expensive. When my daughter was on a gluten free diet, some items were cheaper at CM than Sprouts.

The produce may be more expensive than Kroger or a regular super market, but it lasts longer once I get it home. Or, more often, I can buy the quantity of say carrots or potatoes that I need without having to buy a large pre-package bag.

For a Christmas project, I priced bulk whole cloves. CM ($12.99/lb) won hands down over Whole Foods ($29.99/lb).

CM does have good prices on bulk herbs/spices. That's where I get almost all of mine.

I'm a big fan of central market too, and I've also noticed this. Specifically, I think their bread is actually pretty reasonably priced compared to other supermarkets (which is important to me since I need good bread).

Last time I was in Central Market I was almost struck by several wagons, pushed by oblivious shoppers with their noses in the air. Yield is not something in their vocabulary, apparently. The food is great, shoppers not so much.

I've had the same issue with CM shoppers. They can be pretty damn rude.

Going to Central Market for lunch or dinner was a fav of ours when we lived closer. Hell, we went there to pick up dinner when I was in labor.

EXACTLY!!!
I believe it's like going into a Las Vegas casino.... Central market is pumping some kind of snooty, rude as hell, I'm going to squeeze my tiny basket into your space and scrape the back of your heels shopping cart, while I cut right in front of you to get those Japanese expensive ass apples, and push you outa the way to get to that nasty looking couscous salad that hasn't been turned with a spoon for about 8 hours, kind of air through the air conditioning system.
Like in Vegas, some people just lose their mind up in there!!!!!!!!

I buy their challa, baked cookies, most of their bread, sushi, Mexican hot coffee in the gelato bar, and some of their pickeled olives, red peppers, in that trough next to the deli.

Not our experience at CM in Southlake. Seems like everyone is nice here.
