Hello there.

I know this isn't necessarily something crucial, (well for you all that is), but how's it like out there? I'm a 20 year old black male, and was wondering if it's pretty often or rare that you see latina with black guys out there?

It's simple, date who you want and nobody else will care.

I rarely see it, but I'm not really paying much attention either. We're so used to seeing interracial couples of all types in DFW.

I agree that no one cares. I am white and hispanic married to a black man. Most of my friends are married outside their "race" (whatever that means anyway). There is such diversity here that no one notices. I moved to oregon for a year and was shocked at the lack of mixed couples/offspring- meaning only that I was better able to feel the contrast between what goes on in some other states and appreciate how racially diverse it is in Texas.

Oregon is one of the whitest states in the country.

I dated a black female surgeon from Atlanta for a long time. We felt most comfortable N of 635 in DFW and in San Fran. DFW is very, very diverse. ( I look white but with Indian features.)

It really comes down to age (younger the better regardless of background) and just how diverse the area is to begin with AND how open the area is to new things.

DFW has all that in spades.

Yep. I wish I had done more research before we moved. I was mesmerized by the beauty of it, and forgot to notice the segregation. My poor husband had to go way up north and across the Willammette to get a haircut. It was so weird! I didn't know places like that still existed in 2013. I guess for certain types of white people it is a sort of Utopian society. For me, it was scary as hell. People were really nice- I mean we never had even the slightest hint of racism or anything- and my oldest daughter who happens to look more black than white still cries every day about leaving Oregon. It was just so weird to be at a mall or grocery store and everyone had light skin and blue eyes just like me. ICK! Who wants a whole bunch of the same thing?!?!

I lived in Europe for the better part of a decade...some years were spent in extremely white areas (like Poland and northern England). When I went to Berlin after so long in Poland, I was like...WOW! Non-white people! Then I ended up in France, where the non-white people are a different kind of non-white and there was some more culture shock. Then I ended up in rural England by way of London and my village was 99% white native British. I was the weirdo there because I was A.) American and B.) Jewish. People weren't ugly about it, but they did keep bringing it up like it was important.

When I returned to Texas after so many years abroad, the demographic changes in north Texas were a real shock to the system. We had a lot of Hispanics here when I left, but the massive demographic shift was very noticeable to me because I wasn't here while it was happening. People who were here the whole time didn't notice as much, but I was like "Wow...I don't remember there being so many Hispanics and south Asians here!" But I got over it. It wasn't a bad thing. It was just a noticeable thing.

I had the same reaction when I first went to Poland...I was like "OMG, everybody's WHITE! And CATHOLIC! This is weird!" But I got used to it I guess, because when I came back to DFW I was floored by the demographic changes. Obviously I'm used to it now, it's been years...but to me it was almost like I was coming back to a place I'd never been. That's how much DFW had changed in that 10 year span.

Personally I don't want to live around nothing but white people. I've done it, and it's kind of boring.

I moved to Dallas 4 years ago and the demographic difference in that time. Its drastic. In Plano, its like an Indian/Asian bomb went off in just a few years. Dallas itself is becoming more Hispanic by the day.
