The endless topic question comes again..

Moving into apartment in Lakewood end of this month. Was wondering if Time warner cable or ATT uverse would be better at this location? I have no experience with either, and would just be using internet casually, not uploading videos or online gaming.

If anyone cares to chime in I would appreciate it!

AFAIK you get one or the other, both do not serve the same area.

Go with ATT UVerse. Uverse TV cannot be beat.... Best option out there. If you are close to the ATT switch... even better.

Having had all three at some point in the last 10 years, I rank them in this order:

1) Verizon FIOS!!! (by far the best!)
2) At&t Uverse (a DISTANT second...WTH did they just do to their On Demand menus!?!)
3) Time Warner

You don't get a lot of choice though, because I believe Verizon and At&t can't be in the same area (something about who laid the cables there)...so in a choice between TW or the other two, I'd pick whichever of the other two your area offers...even Uverse, as much as it irritates me.

Interesting, thanks for the replies. Apartment complex was selling TWC pretty hard so I wasn't sure if they were getting kickbacks or not lol.

They may. My apartment complex pushes hard for All State renters insurance. They might get commissions per customers. Who cares, if you are getting the service you desire, it should not be a concern. To be honest, the service of most of these brands are almost pretty much the the same.

To an end user it does not matter if the internet is coming from a fiber optic cable or a water pipe. If the ping is low and the speed is what is specified, its all great!
