I have never hired moving helpers before.
I hired two guys through UHaul.

Has anyone used this service before, do you tip these guys?

I usually do, though only $10 a person. We always request 3 people and they always bring 4 and do it in less time then they spec out. I also have Gatorade for them as we tend to always move in summer. We've used the same service 5 times now and will continue to use them until we have an issue.

I think 5% is customary plus water/Gatorade and lunch.

I tip moving guys and importantly tell them so up front so they give me their best efforts. I do not recall how much I tipped but it was for truck and a half of household items from Houston to Plano and took 2 days on each end so they felt like family by the time it was over. They were awesome at their job too, very professional, no foul language and took time to make sure things were put where my wife, the director at the front door, want things.

Yes, we tipped $20 each which amounted to $60 since we had 3 movers. They were awesome. Had us moved from storage unit in Garland to new house in Richardson in under 3 hours and nothing was broken, scratched etc.

We usually tip $20 each, and we buy lunch for the crew. (Subway or burgers, etc.)

When my parents moved in July 2011 (107 degrees that day!), they tipped the guys $40 each. They had really worked their tails off, and the heat that day was just stifling!

Yes, $20 each and lunch for everyone. Usually give the whole lot to the head guy and let them divide it how they see fit. Ive done several cross country moves and this is what we have always done.

100% tip the movers. They are expecting it! $20 per person is good enough.
