We can keep this thread in future as a running list, but for my needs this weekend I want somewhere that isn't too loud, no kids, and that has vegetarian/healthy options on the menu. Despite being native, I don't know the Dallas restaurant scene and I'm at a loss here.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Kona Grill. It can get kind of crowded at the reverse happy hour though.

FT33 - if you lag in the conversation - the food is super interesting...you can talk about it.

I haven't been there in awhile, but Si Tapas, on Allen St. in Uptown. Lots of options, small plates for sharing, good wine options, interesting and fun and draws a more mature crowd.

Kona Grill is out....no sushi. I keep kosher and am allergic to shellfish anyway.

FT33...eh...not really my kind of place.

Si Tapas...looks like a nice restaurant but not much on the menu for me.

Reps given...Googled the menus.

Hibiscus and perhaps Victor Tango's. I would think about Stephen Pyles, Samar, or maybe Stampede 66.

I've been to Samar, it was OK...not very memorable, I don't even remember what I ate there. Service was good, the ambiance was not (cold and loud).

A lot of these restaurants have lovely flashy websites and interesting menus, but my dietary restrictions narrow my range somewhat. Basically sushi, most Asian places, steakhouses, "chophouses", etc. are out because of the risk of cross-contamination or the lack of vegetarian options.

We'll be checking out SER next weekend for our anniversary as we got engaged at Nana. It may be a little dressy for a first date. The food from what I heard is decent, service is great and the views are breath taking.
