I know this may be a far fetched question kind of like looking for a needle in a haystack but can anyone tell me if I wanted to know history on any homicides, or deaths in home where can I find this out at.

Thanks in advance!

I am moving to older home and I know a newer home could be the same but wanted to know as I know chances of someone dying in a older home are greater.

Deaths- probably not. Death details don't have to be recorded for public records. I suppose you could use the list of former owners from the tax rolls and google to see if you can find any obituaries that mention the person dying at home surrounded by family or thanking the staff at a nursing home or hospital for clues, but good luck with all that!!

Murders- try googling the address or at least the block (ie, 1600 block of Main Street) to see if you get any news hits.

As far as I know, unless it's changed recently, Texas Property code does not require disclosure of death in a home for sale which is unrelated to the property.

Here's a link:

PROPERTY CODE CHAPTER 5. CONVEYANCES

You can ask a realtor or the seller of property but they aren't required to disclose a death.

Hmm. I thought death due to violent crime had to be reported, but death by accidental or natural causes did not.

Births and deaths are part of natural life cycle. Who cares how and if some one died in your home ... it very well may be a brand new house on ancient burial ground or a mass grave.

Are you afraid it could be haunted? Just do a spirit cleanse and bless the house when you move in and you should be fine...
