I got a letter dated 12/26/13 from NTTA as some others have reported. It said my account balance was negative and my toll tags would not be read. I saw the letter 1/5/14, when I logged onto my NTTA account it showed a positive balance. Speaking with a rep by phone today, NTTA's system which pulls in automatic payments from a credit card on file was down the last 2 weeks of the year. But once it came back up, it pulled in enough to make the balance go positive. Told me not to worry about tags not working as this letter was in error and due to their system not any problem I had.

Worst payment system in the globe in my judgement but love the roads and access they give me from West Plano.

I would check back in a week or so to see if the problem is actually been fixed. No way would I take NTTA word for anything.

You actually talked to someone on the phone? I'm impressed. I get put on-hold then wait forever for nobody to ever pick up. They won't respond to an email question, either. We've had a problem with one of our toll tags for months but it's unresolved since I can't fix it myself. Talk about a non-caring monopoly.

They will be happy to talk to you once they pile on those phantom fees.

Reggie

I checked my account online which confirmed everything was ok and the letter was as screwed up as their system is.
