Well back again from another trip to Dallas. We rented a place in Lakewood for the next year. H will start his position the beginning of May. Sadly, the place doesn't have a pool but some of his coworkers have kindly invited us to join them at the Lakewood CC when I visit with the kids!

So thank you all for your help!

Plano is a very family friendly city. If you don't mind driving a little farther to Dallas then I would check out McKinney and Frisco. I also agree with the east Dallas comments. I think the thing that will be the most different for you coming from Philly will be the sprawl of Texas cities. Dallas isn't compact like the northeastern cities.
