I am thinking of building a K Hov house in Park Place Estate in Frisco. My second choice is a Darling house in Lawler Park. Can someone tell me the pros and cons of each communities? Thanks!

Park Place has a lot nicer homes, some with a porte cochere, it's on the west side of Frisco which is considered more upscale than the east side. KHOV's product is very high end in this community.

Lawler Park is closer to 121 which makes it more attractive from a commute standpoint. Good builder too.

I did not consider Park Place estates (a little far from 121 but still easier access through DNT). It is true that west frisco was built out well so has the perception of being a little upscale but that is changing rapidly. For example, Richwoods and Lawler Park are both in the upscale category. The new developments such as Liberty Crossing and anything that comes up in Brinkman estates once it goes on sale will be well in upscale. The east of DNT will also have Whole Foods, Sprouts and other major establishments coming up soon. Eldorado and Independence stretch is getting a very different makeover.
In dollar for dollar, I believe Lawler Park is probably cheaper than Park Place. In terms of builder reputation, darling and Highland are hands down better builder than KHov. There is no ifs, ands and buts about it. KHov is improving but not yet closed the gap with those two. Lawler Park is a small community of about 340 homes and has the elementary school inside the community. The Bachhus park(sp?) is a 88 acre park getting connected to Lawler Park so you can access the park easily through a bike or a walking trail. It is 5 minutes from 121. These are some great things going that we strongly considered Lawler park.

Again not knowing about Park Place estates but Shaddock is a better builder and at a price-point above $650k, I would have considered Avignon in West Plano.
My 2 cents!

This East vs West thing is getting stronger. Just last week at a get together, friends from Allen were talking about East Allen vs West Allen. Parker, Lucas and Murphy people mentioned about price/prestige diffrence due to school district. West Plano vs East Plano is already well known.

I wonder how confusing it must be for new transplants?
