Hello,
I plan to buy a home in Flower Mound and I would like to read opinions about Bluebonnet (E) and Shadow Ridge (M) schools.
Thanks.

Bluebonnet is rated 7/10 on Great Schools. It is one of the finalists for the Best Elementary School in Denton County for 2014. Here is the TEA report for 2013:

Shadow Ridge is ranked 10/10 on Great Schools. Here is the TEA report for 2013:

All of the schools in Flower Mound are well rated and have good reputations, though LISD as a whole does not have such a stellar reputation. The vast majority of the kids who attend Flower Mound schools have parents who value education. I wouldn't split hairs over the schools in Flower Mound - more will depend on the happenstance of your kids' individual teacher from year to year than the individual school itself.

I do not have kids in either of these schools, though mine do go to Flower Mound schools. The schools are decent, but not quite as impressive as I expected based on the ratings and what I was hearing. I think probably that Texas is just behind in academic expectations compared to the state I moved from, and it's not really an individual school quality issue per say. I'm mostly disappointed by the lack of tracking - every kid, regardless of mastery, is pretty much on the same page of the same textbook every day through 5th grade, and the math curriculum LISD has chosen is a bit insipid in my opinion. (I supplement their math educations at home a little bit.)
