Castle Hills/Lantana to either of those places is going to be an awful commute with a $$ toll road that will be undergoing major construction in the next 2 years... maybe look at Flower Mound?

I am more partial to Castle Hills for a couple of reasons. The community is centrally located where there is a lot more to offer in terms of shopping, dining and entertainment. It is much closer to downtown too if you ever go to shows, games etc.

Also, the community will be built out within a couple of years and if you decide to sell, you won't be competing with builders anymore. Homes are going to see lots of appreciation.

Lantana is a very nice community too but remote imo.

Check this Heritage community too... http://www.hillwoodresidential.com
Most builders are almost finished too. KHOV, Toll Brothers, Highland have about 10-30 lots lefts, DR Horton is the only one that just opened up a new phase. Keller ISD It's located south of the alliance airport, north of Fort Worth.

Lantana is very nice but the traffic is pretty bad. It seems to get worse everyday. Especially with all of the new retail at 2499 and 407. Resale is very hard right now in Lantana. What about Bridlewood or Wellington in Flower Mound?

Try Hackberry Creek located in the Valley Ranch/Las Colinas area of Irving... a very nice master-planned community (see zip 75063 on realtor.com) with an elementary school located inside the gated community (served by Coppell ISD - great school district) and most especially, very convenient to your hubbies job, thus eliminating a monster of a commute from these other communities you are considering.

Hackberry Creek is not in Coppell ISD... it's Irving. Most residents in this community send their kids to private schools too. It is indeed a nice golf course gated community.

I'll vote for Lantana any day since that's where I live. Yes there's traffic but there's no more traffic here than anywhere else that people are mentioning. Yes again it will seem like you're remote but 2 miles from the entrance of Lantana there are plenty of shops and restaurants. Within walking distance we have a brand new Sonic and plans for a CVS. As for families you'll definitely find lots with kids the same age as yours.

If you can deal without the master planned community I'd also suggest Grapevine. It's a wonderful place to live, a relatively easy commute for your husband, good schools, and they do have plenty of parks for you and the kids to enjoy.

It appears we're both missed the mark regarding school districts. It's actually Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD (CFBISD)... Las Colinas Elementary, Bush Middle School and Ranchview High School... still a great school district!

Here are the maps to both which can be found on each ISD site:
