Was just online with a VZ rep, who told me that if I needed to exchange a box for a TiVo card, return a box, exchange their router, etc. - that there are no VZ Fios (not VZ Wireless where they say that they do not do Fios returns/exchanges) locations to do a quick transaction. That I have to place an order online and wait for 3-5 business days. Is that true? Meaning I can sit at home with a dead modem for 3-5+ days with no other option but to wait for the mailman?

Please advise. If that's really the case, I guess I have to go with Grande. Any feedback on them would be appreciated as well.

Verizon FIOS is the way to go. Far superior to other services. We had it in Denton. When we had a box go out, they would ship a box, usually 2-3 days for receipt. To return a unit, UPS store handles at no costs. A lot of the companies are going this route due to the simplicity of,the systems now and the need to reduce personnel costs.

Compare this to Comcast that I now have. Charged me $60 for a service call, wasn't here 15 minutes.
