Hi all. My name is Lisa. I'm 26 from Manitoba, Canada. I am currently looking to test out the job market outside of Canada as I am not having a lot of luck finding anything. So would really love to know how the job market is and if it would be worth my time looking outside Canada. I'm seeking to get a fresh start in life too. So, any info anyone has would be great! Thanks!

also, you need a company to sponsor your work visa or else you get in line to emigrate.

In most cases, relocation without a job is a really bad idea.

Your case also involves work authorization paperwork, unless you already have US work authorization. The work authorization-emigration scenario is often a Catch-22.

Best advice is to persevere and find work in Canada. Something might work out in Winnipeg.

Canadians don't have to be sponsored thanks to NAFTA. They get a visa called a TN that has a small fee to renew annually, and doesn't require the lengthy application/interview/lottery process like most other visas.

Still it would be a very bad idea to come here without a job.

Well I definitely wouldn't go without finding a job. I've been looking for months and the job market here is very poor, even when it comes to very basic jobs such as retail, and customer service. My skill set varies. I've worked mostly customer service, I've dabbled in office work, I'm currently a pet groomer who grooms out of my home, unfortunately it's not steady enough to live on. My two big areas of expertise are dogs and definitely hockey(in general). However I am a quick learned her can do just about anything. Efficient with computers, word processing, spread sheets, power point, etc.

Yep, b/c even though the TN process is a simple and cheap one for employers most employers refuse to do this.
