Hi, I'm jfre81.

I rode up from Houston last May. I know it's a little late and it's not even the same season, but since it looks like it's cold and rainy there in Big D, you might stay inside and nurse your hangover or non-hangover, depending on how you spent New Year's Eve, and browse on this here photo thread.

Happy 2015, Dallas. And, if you're reading this and you're not in Dallas, happy 2015 to you too.

(And if you find today's not cold enough, come up to Ohio where I am now. We've got a 7-degree wind chill going!)

Yeah, I didn't get far outside downtown, but I had to work in some Deep Ellum IPA drinking in with the photography.

Also, I've kind of lost access for the time being to the machine where I have most of the stuff I had shot that weekend. At some point, we'll take a look at Fort Worth.

Oh, I'm sorry, I'm supposed to be Team Houston! My bad, HTBU!

Thanks everyone. I'm sure I'll come through some other time.

(Well, thanks to everyone except the door guy at [name withheld] on McKinney Street who wouldn't let me take my camera into the bar. Had no intention of even pulling it out in there. Been in a bajillion establishments like it in five states and DC just in the last year and a half, and this was and remains a unique experience for me. All I wanted was a beer or two. Thankfully, the place across the street had plenty beer - probably better beer as I ended up with a tasty Maredsous Tripel there - and no problem with the fact I possessed a camera bag.)

Jfre81,

Have you moved out of Houston? I always enjoyed your posts on the Houston forum.

Thanks. Technically I moved out of the city right about three years ago, tended to some family business in my hometown of Texas City. The one across the causeway from Galveston with refineries that blow up sometimes. Joined a startup last year based in Ohio and moved up here to help make something of it.

If it works out like I want, I can do this traveling/photo thing on a more regular basis, visit down there whenever I want, that sort of thing.
