Originally, we were looking at a job in Mansfield, but now it's Lewisville. Of course, this could change by the end of the week. However... where's a good place to live within a 20-30 minute drive of Lewisville?

rural or suburban
which ISD is excellent, good, poor? (We have 3 kids under 5. Planning to send our kids to parochial schools or home school, but I want to be near other families and we would like the option of public if need be)
4-bedroom homes that are in the ballpark of 250-315K
Avoiding tolls for the commute, if possible

Thank you!

Flower Mound, Highland Village are perfect choices because they are in Lewisville. And great schools.
Coppell is extremely close and a top rated school district.
Carrollton and Farmers Branch are also good choices if you really don't plan on using schools.

Flower Mound, Highland Village, Lantana - all are close and very good options. Flower Mound is probably the better choice, depending on where in Lewisville the job is.

If you want more rural you could include areas like Double Oak and Corinth also.

It's getting hard to find a home in Flower Mound now below $300-350k. (and many areas with good schools)

I would say Carrollton since you don't need schools. Lantana is too far out of the way and isolated.

Avoid any commute that requires you to cross Lake Lewisville on the I35E bridge. It is a horrible bottleneck!

Homes in Flower Mound in that price range go soooo quickly. Recently, my parents put in an offer on a house that was listed for 289k. The house was on the market for 24 hours and had 4 offers on the table. My parents won the bidding war by offering 10k over asking price.

Flower Mound is frustrating in that sense.

Lantana is nice, but ouch! Property taxes hurt there. They are much higher compared to Flower Mound.

Perhaps Highland Village or Highland shores? Both feed into good schools.
Frisco is 15 miles away...that's pushing it on the commute time though
