One person's opinion is just that, however, my wife is a CIO here in town in her opinion UT-Austin grads are the best prepared CS grads of any Texas school - UT's CS program is ranked #9 in the country so that's no surprise. UTD is ranked #70 according to US News. My wife is really impressed with UTD CS graduates. I'd say their CS programs enjoys a very strong reputation in Dallas.

Speaking from the same educational background and industry experience...... go to UTD only if you can't get into UT-Austin and A&M.... period....... no brainer to me.

I have UT-Austin, A&M, UT-Arlington and UTD graduated in my work place and from my overall impression UT-Austin and A&M outperforms UT-Arlington and UT-D graduates.

To be precise....... I have seen more UTD international grads running around for getting a job but can't get into tech companies..... they finally go with Indian consultants in metroplex.

The hard truth is very few people can get into UT or TAMU computer science.
