So after lots of thought we've decided to start our kids off in a "middle" tiered(in terms of cost) private. We will be using the next 3-5 years to save as much as possible for a sizable down payment on a house possibly in the park cities area. We have two boys, so trying to keep the total cost around 15K or under for tuition would be ideal. Below are some of the privates I have found that are within that range. Please feel free to add as many to list list as possible and any additional information you can think of.

*Most of these are parishioner rates if you're a contributing member at the church affiliated with the school.

St. Rita:
1 Student:$6,850
2 Students:$12,950

St. Monica:
1 Student:$6,985
2 Student:$12,900

Christ the King:
1 Student:$7,790

What school district do you live in now? Are publics an option? Saving that $15k each year could get you to your goal faster.

I know you didn't mean it as a negative per se and I noticed the quotation marks, however, I'd be careful describing those schools as middle tiered.

Agreed. It was meant as middle tiered in terms of cost, not necessarily education.

We live just outside of HPISD in DISD and our elementary public option is terrible. We're also looking into charters, but don't want to take on as our only option due to risk. My first son will be starting Pre-K Fall of 2016.

We were hoping to possibly utilize our local DISD school since it is considered a TAG school for 5-6th. Unfortunately there seems to be 0 to little parent involvement. I've reached out to the PTA numerous times to try and get involved so I could get a better understanding on the school and have never received even a reply back. Their FB page hasn't been updated in almost 2 years, etc.

This isn't directed at you, but does anyone care to explain the private school tiers in Dallas? Countless times I've been out in North Dallas and overheard moms calling some other kid's school "second tier" and what not. "Yeah, Suzy goes to a second rate private school. I guess she didn't get in one of the top schools..or maybe her parents couldn't afford one of the elite schools." Some of my coworkers' wives seem to discuss the same things when we're out at dinner.

It kinda came off as snobbish and elitist in that situation. Surely this isn't the case with most private school parents, right?

You could do a curriculum based transfer to another DISD school. For IB either Lee or Preston Hollow. I can't see if Polk has dual language but several campuses offer that including Withers and Lee.

At that price point, you're going to be limited to Catholics and some of the private schools not worth paying for (First Baptist Academy, etc). Providence *may* be under $10k. Also, be careful with Catholic tuition rates if you're not Catholic- it's going to be closer to $20k for 2 kiddos.

Yeah, they don't just hand out the parishoner rates. You have to be a parish supporting member of one of the churches, which means a regular check/ stewardship contribution. Not $20 in the offering plate once a month. You might be fully aware of this caveat but I hadn't noticed in your past posts that you mentioned either way so just a friendly FYI
