I lived in Dallas my whole life until I went off to college in Colorado and have been living here since. Well, luckily I've just accepted a great job offer and get to escape the cold winters and snow shoveling and move back home!

I am very familiar with the Park Cities, however, the way the market and prices have gotten, I can't afford that currently. I wanted to get everyone's opinion on the M Streets/Lakewood neighborhoods. It seems to still be a great location with good people and right by the lake which I love!

I've been following the Candy's Dirt real estate blog for a while and just saw this post about a home currently for sale which seems to be just what I'm looking for:

Sounds like I need to act fast! I'm actually planning on flying down this weekend to try to see some open houses.

Any quick advice or insight about that area is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

It's a great area. The reason they can ask that much per sqft, is because people are almost paying that much for tear downs in the area. Good luck op!

I saw that on Candy's Dirt as well - 312/sq ft is high but with the backhouse it's really like 275/sq ft which is pretty normal. Basically that's the price of the dirt it's sitting on. I live in the area and our neighbor's house just a little bigger with no garage, 1 bath, and no updates sold for 375K within the first week and was taken to the studs so it's seems like an okay price in comparison! Took a quick look at the houses between 365-400 and that one is definitely the cutest and one of the only ones feeding into Stonewall. I would do it!! If only just to have a drink on the deck

I will admit it's a nice area and the school that is zoned to is great.

That's a great house, almost exactly what I'm wanting! I wish it was in San Antonio. (we're leaving DFW ) I'm surprised to see a price reduction.

Possibly! It sure is nice, though, and that extra room is such a bonus. *sigh*
