Hello,
We are planning to move to Plano/Frisco/Allen with two kids. We are looking for a kids friendly neighborhood , where kids get together in the evenings to play, ride bikes. Any ideas?
Thanks

That pretty much describes every neighborhood in those three cities. Where are your jobs and what is your budget?

Why are you leaving Seattle? I ask because it seems that people who love Seattle are absolutely miserable in Dallas and more so in the suburbs.

You wouldn't believe it, but that's everywhere just about! I honestly feel like I went back in time at least 20 years when I moved here. LOVE IT!

We live in Mckinney, but it is not unusual to see "Children at Play" signs in the streets and parents benched out in the driveway.

I think the 3 cities you listed are a great start. I would suggest then finding neighborhoods that fit your criteria more based on price, style, bedrooms, etc. then plan a visit!

I'm also curious why you're making the move from Seattle to Dallas. I've never been to Seattle, but I plan on visiting. I know a lot of people who made the move to Seattle from other cities.

Those neighborhoods will work perfect for your family, good schools, and kid friendly parks...lots of parks! If you will commute towards Downtown Dallas or Airport direction down on 121, or 75 the travel time during rush hour manageable but if you go further north, it may not make sense. Rentals/Home prices in those neighborhoods are very hot right now, but still cheaper than what I have seen in Seattle.

TBH you're looking at going from one extreme to the other. What Seattle calls a heat wave, Dallas calls June, July, August, and part of September. During the dog days of summer the average overnight lows in Dallas are roughly the same as the average daily highs in Seattle.

Seattle averages a whopping 2 days per year above 90 degrees. In Dallas the number is 74.

But then Seattle also has 300 cloudy days.
I like Seattle weather but some folks may actually like hot and sunny Dallas weather.
