Also check out the area just to the east of SMU - along E. University between Greenville Ave and Skillman.

The area isn't that bad compared to other cities of this size.
If you are moving from a smaller city then the crime might seem extreme.

You will over pay, and not get a bargain if you buy a condo near SMU, plus you'll be surrounded by conservative Republicans.
