I have got a new offer in which i have to move from India to PLano Tx. Not sure about the expenses and all stuff. Will be moving out alone as of now and will be having my wife after few months. So can any body tell me if what would be the monthly expenditure as i have been offered 80k USD PA. Does this much money is sufficent for survival.

Yes. Many people with far less manage to live comfortably. If you don't demand the best of everything and brand-new house, you will be fine.

Agree with above - 80K is more than a what a lot of people are making. You should be fine - as long as you have reasonable expectations.

This site had prices that I felt were fairly accurate : https://www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/dallas
It should give u an idea.

Since the biggest component of your monthly expenses is likely going to be housing (rent), you may want to check on prices online here : Apartments in Plano TX for Rent | Apartments.com

Plano has a lot of tension between the indians and everyone else, including other asians as well as whites, mexicans and blacks.

Personally I don't think indians are strong enough in Plano. I prefer a place with more indians and less of the other groups.

Dolphin 99 - are you for real?! Plano has a sizeable Indian population and they coexist peacefully with lots of other races. I live there and am Indian and don't see any of what you said.

And to meet your criteria of living where Indians are the supermajority, why don't you go live in say India? :-)

If you're renting for the moment and aren't saddled with a ton of debt, you can live quite well on $80K in Plano.

You will likely need to rent a 2bdr apartment that can house up to 4 people. In Plano this will cost you $1300/month, with water, gas, electricity and home insurance added likely looking at $1600/month. Then you will need a car, hope you have a driver license, or else living here will be difficult. Everything is based on Credit here, and coming from India with no US credit will be challenging. Hope your company can help you with items require credit checks or expect to pay higher interest rate on everything you buy on credit. $80K after taxes will be $60K, and depending on your health insurance benefits, the $60K spendable income, you can live OK, but don't expect to save much.
