This is exactly what I have except I purchased my modem from Amazon.

What brand and model did you purchase? Is it easy for a non-techie to set it up?

Now all I have is Netflix, Hulu and CBS app and much happier with the service.
We do the same thing. Hubby bought an antenna and we use netflix, hulu, and amazon prime.

We buy the most expensive internet speed from TWC and havent had any problems.

Yep we got those plus Sling and decided to get a cheap speed from TWC and upgrade if we saw buffering. We never saw buffering so we are nowhere near the highest speed.

With a good internet connection, there's almost no reason to subscribe to cable anymore. There are many pay OTT options, but you may also want to research Kodi -- opens up a virtually unlimited selection of free episodes/movies and, while not legal, it is used by many cord cutters. All you need is a FireTV stick or, even better, Nvidia Shield TV and you're ready to rock.

For the OP, I hate TWC and have had Uverse Gigabit fiber for about a year without any issues.

^An HD antenna helps to address much of the regional sport events. Though I agree, sports/live entertainment are probably the biggest reasons to stick w cable.

Sling doesn't offer Fox Sports as far as I know, which is important because it has hockey.

Also, there is no easy DVR solution for a service like Sling, which is a huge drawback to me. I don't watch live TV.
