I am moving from Roseville (a suburb near Sacramento). I wont have a car, so lightrail is important. Also hoping to find a job at a restaurant while I put myself through school. Does anyone have any suggestions on locations? I will be staying at an Extended Stay Hotel for several months until I save enough to get a place and get more acquainted with my surroundings. I dont want to commit to an apartment until I know for sure where I want to live in Dallas. Any suggestions would be helpful.

What school will you be going to that is on the DART lines? What is your budget for an apartment?

"Good" areas are irrelevant in your situation. A good area to you will be one in which you can actually live without a car. That is not easy in Dallas.

We moved from Roseville to Dallas a few years ago. You will find Dallas a thousand times more interesting than Placer County! Good riddance Sac-town!
