So, I found a very nice property I hope to fly up and see at the end of next week, but I'm having problems finding out if my pets will be welcome there. I have small dogs. Eight of them, at the moment, all seniors that were abandoned by their "loving family".

I have never believed in the "we're moving and can't take our pet" theory of relocation, so before I spend the time and money flying up to see this home, can anyone tell me if there are restrictions on the number of domesticated animals permitted in Nevada?

And, Thank You All, for your help with my question about Property Owners Associations in my other thread. You were all very helpful.

Maybe you should post this in the Nevada forum?

8 Dogs? You probably will need to be in a Rural location.

Well, he could be talking about Nevada, TX, which is in rural Collin Co.

If that's what the OP is talking about, I'd be extremely surprised if there were any city-based restrictions. However, the city has a website:

City of Nevada - Home

The answers being sought could probably be found there.

Lol exactly why I chose not to move it. There are so many towns in Texas that share a name with other cities, states, and countries. We even have a Reno, TX, I think.

Yes, that's exactly where I'm talking about and I've not only been to the city web page, I've exchanged emails with the City Secretary with several questions. While she was very friendly, this was the one bit of information that she didn't respond to. I now know the building codes and zoning restrictions for the City, though!

I guess what I need to know is, do Collin County restrictions apply, or does Nevada have their own set of rules regarding pets? It looks to be a very nice area, perfectly suited to my wants and needs, but not if my pets won't be welcome there.

Pet ordinances are City/Municpality based, not county

Nevada is a small, semi-rural town. I doubt they will have pet limits...

They do not have restrictions. Nevada is a small town about 10 minutes east of Lavon. Everyone knows everyone, and they share a common high school with two other surrounding towns. It is however "country", so as long as you know that going in you should be fine!

I think there MIGHT be limits. If not by the city, by the builder who is building a subdivision there and establishes his own private rules that are quite restrictive. Moderator cut: TOS violation You can PM me if you want to find out more.
