I love the metro, the city, the suburbs, I even think that visually the city as a whole is beautiful to drive thru, and not just downtown.

But my only complaint(Besides the terrible PT) is the food is underwhelming. Considered its the 4th largest metro in America(After LA, CHI, NYC) the drop off in food quality from the big 3 to Dallas is very noticeable and disappointing.

Just my opinion

Where exactly are you looking? Dallas proper has an enormous amount of fantastic restaurants.

There are a ton of chains, yes.

But there is also an endless sea of mom and pop and famous chef places.

Endless. And a lot of them are really good.

Dallas has "good" food but overall when compared to the other metros its not in the same league.

For example, i haven't had any great mexican food in Dallas. And I've been to dozen of places in the city and burbs alike over the course of 10 years.

The seafood is subpar as well so is the asian food.

Even the ma n pop, greasy spoon type stores across the metro aren't really anything spectacular, no matter the niche they're aiming for.

It's not a destination like the places you mentioned.

I've found plenty of places over the years that had great Mexican food. Rosita's on Maple Ave was my favorite, best margaritas in town, I was sad when it closed.

I'm with you on the seafood though. There are some good choices, but they are few and far between.

You haven't had great Asian food?
You can't be serious.
Those are the mom and pops I'm talking about.
Pure authentic don't speak engrish type establishments.
I lived in LA.
The hype is just that.
