So my husband and I are moving to Dallas soon. We are both graduating for college. He just got a great job with General Electric...for me on the other hand, i have no idea what i am going to do. I am trying to get a job at Southwest Airlines but i talked to them yesterday and they said not to apply until April. Im a bit worried about waiting until April because I want to have a job before i graduate and move.

Does any one have any good idea of companies i could apply with. I am getting a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. I am open to doing anything.

Also we need some idea of where to live. Coming from Lubbock, we doing want to fight an hours worth of traffic. Seth is going to be working right next to Love Field and we know Highland Park is not going to work for poor college students.

Any help would be great!

If you can get on w/ Southwest I'd JUMP ON THAT!!!!!!! Known MANY that work(ed) there and they all love it. VERY family oriented company and one of the top to work for here in the Dallas area. People that work for SWA don't leave to find another job.

One friend that works for SWA lives in Murphy and has the regular workshift hours and can make it in an hour.

SWA hires, but the process can take a year and half between application and training.

I would love to work at SWA, its my dream job. I do have a little help from the Chancellor at Texas Tech. He has called and passed my resume on to the recruiters, but now im just playing the waiting game.

I hope it doesn't take over a year for me! that would be awful.. thats why im nervous in waiting until april when i need a job by may.

Good luck getting on at SWA. They get over 100,000 resumes a year! I consider myself very lucky to have gotten down to 1 of 3 in their interview process, and that was only by a current employee hand-walking my resume down to HR!

Look south of Love Field in the Uptown area. There are lots of nice apartments and townhouses there.
