Not even to close to humid. Really, unless you get something crazy like 1980 or 2011, the heat is actually invigorating. In 2011, the heat wore me out to a point where I couldn't even use the pool any more, but generally summer is the second-best season here (behind fall, of course).

I came back in 2012... it was brutal. 2013 was alright. I heard about 2011, it was bad. Last year was bad too!

If you want humid, try Houston.

Hopefully the mild winter isn't an indication we're about to get roasted this summer. The last couple of summers have been relatively mild in terms of "days over 100 degrees" -- among the lowest annual total days over 100 in the past decade or so.

People who moved here after 2012 have no idea how bad it could be....
They say this is not bad not knowing about the summer of 2011.

Per NOAA, Dallas-Forth Worth averaged 18 days of 100F or more per year from 1981-2010.
NWS Ft. Worth

I wonder why the two years of record 100 days were omitted. 1980 had 69 days and 2011 had 71 days.

The sun is brutal, Dallas is at the same latitude line as Saudi Arabia. All European countries are further north in latitude as well, with less strong/intense solar declination angle. It would be nice if the US had milder northern latitude climates like Europe, the closest example we have is the Pacific Northwest.
