I want to hear from Dallasites and Fort Worthers. I've always heard Dallas rivals Fort Worth. But I want to hear from you guys. Is the Dallas-Fort Worth rivalry an intense, hated rivalry such as San Fran-Oakland, or is it a more friendly thing like Miami-Fort Lauderdale?

Well, I lived in Dallas for 42 years and honestly it never captured any of my attention at all. I suppose there is a little bit of something there, but it's never been a subject of conversation in any conversation that I can recall.

I've never thought of Dallas-Fort Worth as a rivalry situation like SF-Oakland, nor like a "twin city" situation like Minneapolis-St Paul. We just are.

Amon Carter started the whole rivalry. It's quieted down on the Dallas side, but Fort Worth keeps it alive!

I know a few people from Ft. Worth who "never venture into Dallas" and vice versa...but for the most part, nobody cares....We're all in the Metroplex......What I think is funny, is people in Arlington, who get so mad when anybody refers to the Rangers or Cowboys being in Dallas...ok yes, we know, technically its Arlington, but if not for Dallas these teams wouldnt exist in this area...And if not for Dallas, most of the suburbs in the Metroplex wouldnt exist or would be small rural towns, Arlington included, so get over it.....

It's mainly a thing on the Fort Worth side. Frankly, Fort Worth is lucky to even be brought up in a discussion in Dallas.

Houston and Dallas have a larger rivalry.

I kind of disagree. Most FTW people could care less about Dallas. FTW shines with it's downtown, museums, culture.
