Hello,
I have a felony conviction from 2006 and I am looking for an apartment in N Dallas that will rent to someone with a felony conviction. I have a job, no evictions and good credit. I work near 635/Skillman. Can someone please help me with any suggestions. Thanks,

You also might try renting a room off Craiglist. A lot of the time you can avoid a background check that way as long as you make a good impression. Everyone deserves a second chance at life, so good luck!

Yes, look for 2nd chance apartments and try using an apartment locator. If you have a decent credit rating and can get prior landlord references, that would be very helpful.

I am a landlord and I haved rented (in fact have a tenant right now with a felony record) to felons. Both times each person told me his story -- confirmed by the criminal background check we get on every applicant -- and each had decent credit ratings.

There has been much discussion in the news recently about Obama wanting something that makes it so landlords cannot reject people because of a criminal past. There are several articles, but this was the first one in the Google Search. Read up on it:
