Hi,
My husband and I finally relocated to the south of Dallas area. We are looking at homes in the 300's-360's max.
We loved the Mira Lagos (grand prairie 75054) area because of all the green areas/walking trails, how quite it seems, and how well kept it looks. However, there is a new community being built on 360 called Southpointe ( mansfield 76063). This community plan is to have shopping, schools, etc and supposed to be really nice...anyone knows about this two areas and could provide some feedback/thoughts? What is better?
Thanks!

It's hard to get answers on C-D regarding this area. Me and my family are also looking into: Mira Lagos/GP Peninsula/Lowes Farm/Mansfield National

I'm not sure where Southpointe is? What's a cross street? 360 and what?

South Pointe is located between 360 and 287 along Lone star Road. It's hard to compare the two neighborhoods since no one lives in the south pointe community yet. Also the entire region south of Mathis Road is "South Pointe", but theres also a community called south pointe inside of it which is mostly houses.
South Pointe Builders: J Houston, Plantation, David Weekley. Custom: Boyd, Jeff Rasor, Mansfield Custom.
Mira Lagos Builders: First Texas, Grand Homes (Las Brisas), Bloomfield (Las Brisas), M/I Homes, Innovation (Las Brisas).
South Pointe: $285-525,000 Custom: 600,000+
Mira Lagos: $215-555,000
South Pointe (Phase 1): 3 Small Parks, 1 Community Center, 5 large parks Connected, 3 ponds.
Mira Lagos: 3 Community Centers, 2 Main Walking Trails, 1 pool, 3 small Parks, 6 ponds. not including Las Brisas
South pointe Schools: Annette Perry, Marry Orr, Rogene Worley, Lake Ridge. The Communitiy will have its own schools at some point.
Mira lagos Schools: Anna May Daulton, Cora Spencer, Mary Lillard, Danny Jones, Lake Ridge. Anna/Cora within Community
Neither of the two communities will have much Multi-Family. South pointe will be closer to shopping, There are also well sites in both communities, but south pointe has more of them. Traffic in the general area isn't a problem. I've never heard of any issues with crime in Mira Lagos. Try to Avoid the southern region of Mira Lagos.
Las Brisas looks like a nice neighborhood.
$350,000 should get you a new 2,500 SqFt home in Mira. Bloomfield/First Texas
$350,000 Should get you a new 2,700 SqFt home in South. Plantation homes

You seem very knowledgeable about the area. Few questions:

Why should we avoid the southern region of Mira Lagos and what are the boundaries of the southern region?

Is Mira Lagos and Grand Peninsula the same thing. If not, what are the boundaries of each.

How does Mansfield National (west of S Holland Rd, north of National pkwy) and Lowes Farms/Bankston Meadows (north of E Broad St, east of Lowes Farm pkwy) compare to the areas already mentioned.

Large number of rental properties. More of a first time home buyer area with mostly smaller box homes. The section just south of Cora Spencer.
Grand Peninsula is every thing North of Hanger Lowe and East of Arlington Webb. They both fall under the Mira Lagos HOA.
Mansfield National is sort of comparable to Mira Lagos some areas have nice upgraded homes some have cooky cuter homes that need some help. Avoid the very southern section near the railroad tracks, also there's only one pool/park area. Mansfield National is in the shape of a sideways U (Eagle Dr, Victory Ln, Palmer Dr). it completely surrounds West Garden Heights (Carnation Ln, Garden Path Ln, Jasmine Ln). Average Price $282,000
Lowes Farm is more established and looks similar to Northern Mira Lagos. Homes all look a bit different and most are keep in good condition. I get the scene that most of the residents could afford more expensive homes. Again just has one Pool/Park Area. Average Price $276,000
Bankston Meadows is a newer community that was suppose to be all custom homes, but was sold to First Texas Homes.
Most of the homes are on the larger side 3300 SqFt Average. The homes look nice, but they all look very similar at the same time. unfortunately most of the residents aren't spending much money to upgrade the homes or yards which isn't helping the similar look. Lastly it's a very mixed race neighborhood (30.7% Unknown, 29.7% White, 27.7% Black, 5.4% asian, 5.4% Hispanic) . Again there's just one Pool/Park. Average price $310,000

Awesome Info!! Thanks. Yes the diversity is what we like about. Lowes Farm, Bankston Meadows, Mansfield National, Mira Lagos & Grand Peninsula all appeared to be very diverse when we drove through

Spring Lake estates just south of Bower Ranch would also be a good choice.
Your best bet would be Mira Lagos, Bankston Meadows, or Southwind in far SE Arlington.
