Hello! I am relocating from Charlotte to Dallas in May. I am a single 25 year old female. I will be working initially in Irving, but my office will move in November to Plano (really close to the Frisco Ikea). I would like to find a studio or 1BR for 900-1000/ month in a location that is walkable to some bars/ restaurants. I would also like for my commute to not be more than 45 minutes one way to either Plano or Irving. Any suggestions of complexes or neighborhoods to look into? Thanks in advance!

Any of the several apartment complexes at Plano Legacy would be perfect for you.

Question for others, will complexes do 6 month leases these days?

If so, I would recommend you get something for the 6 months you'll be in Irving in the Las Colinas area. Once you move to the Frisco office, I think the Shops at Legacy or Austin Ranch area would be a good fit.

I'd try to avoid saddling yourself with a 30-45 minute commute when traffic is only going to get worse.

That's what I was thinking! How bad would the drive to Irving be? Is there a way to figure out the cost of tolls? Thank you!

Legacy makes sense once you are Frisco but that will be a long and expensive commute to Irving. I would try to find a sublet of some sort in the Uptown/Oaklawn area later in the year
