Hey NY-Dallas,

Don't know if you're still interested or not, but I read through the posts in this thread and didn't see any response to your Creekside at Preston question.

This subdivision is built by Fox and Jacobs. A well-known entry-level builder out here. Depending on what your needs are you may or may not want to consider this area. If you want the lowest price, this is a good place to look. The price range will run from $150k - $225k. If you pay more than $225k you've over paid.

However, the homes here are not the best quality. F&J is known for their quick turnaround production homes with low-end features and finish out.

I would recommend these homes to first time home buyers, fixed income buyers, or people who just want to stay under $200k and still live in Frisco.

The only other detraction right now is the traffic. Because of the popularity of Prosper, there is heavy traffic along Preston/289 that lines up right in front of this community. It is single-file for several miles south of 380 on Preston. It's a beast during rush hours.

Regarding, Meadows of Preston... This is a Meritage (Legacy) homes neighborhood. I would prefer it over Creekside. The prices are going to be higher, though. $220k-$300k. Meritage is a mid-range builder and I'm not fond of their salespeople. However, for these resale homes it's a non-issue.

Hope this helps.

Default Frisco to Love Field?

That commute from Frisco to Love Field down the tollway sounds scary. I could be wrong, but I am visualizing traffic at a standstill. I could be wrong.

That commute should be tested by your husband at the time he will be driving it.

Frisco to love field during rush hour would not be pretty.

I am a big fan of what Frisco will be in a few years once it starts to build out infrastructure, but once you go above main st, you are really looking to add pain to your life. Stay in the southern developed part and pay more for a smaller place, you'll thank me later.

Thanks for the info. I am looking to spend no more than 275k so I will definitley take your advice.

I've got a great PDF file that lists how all the schools in Dallas, Collin, and Denton counties ranked with the Texas Education Agency for the 2005-2006 school year. If anyone is interested PM me and I can email you.
