With COVID restrictions still in effect due to high cases, your best bet to celebrate this year will be at home. Save the travel for celebration for your 11th anniversary in 2021.

It might be best to rent a house/cabin somewhere nice to be socially distant. Broken Bow for example.

I bought a camper 5 yrs ago. It has come in handy during 2020. I think I would be hesitant to stay in a hotel these day and especially get on a plane.

If you live in Dallas and okay to drive to Arkansas, I can give this suggestion. They have very pretty cottage in middle of serene nature and you will be have no one to bother you. with no people around, self-checkin etc no need to worry for corona. they give some discount for wedding anniversaries. Kitchen is fully setup but nothing is there close by to eat so you either cook your food or willing to drive 10-15 miles every time you are hungry

My honest suggestion is to plan a trip during your 10th year, not right on your anniversary week in January. With vaccines starting to roll out next week, travel will be much safer by late summer or early fall. You might be two young healthy people, but be considerate of all the people you come across while traveling - airport workers, flight crews, taxi drivers, hotel workers including those who might have access to your room, etc. And also “essential workers” who are working while sick or being told by their managers to stop getting Covid tests. Yes, that is happening.

We did a quick weekend getaway in early fall when the Covid numbers had declined considerably and it was not relaxing at all. Change of scenery was nice but that was about it. So many of the resort’s services were unavailable (no room service, no housekeeping), the whole place smelled like hand sanitizer, the dining menu was super abbreviated, etc. This was at a very nice Texas resort we had stayed at prior to Covid so we were very aware of everything that was different or missing. It’s honestly not worth traveling right now unless you absolutely must.

Or find a cabin in the wilderness. That’s romantic too.

Following because we are in the same boat, but a few months later. As much as I want a getaway, I'm trying to talk myself into waiting until conditions are better. We are doing virtual school so anyone who watches our kids while we're gone would also have to be a teacher. That may be too much to ask of someone!
