Corinth, TX would probably be a better choice than Lewisville (just a tiny further out, but outstanding elementary schools, safe, and a much better rental for the money (if you can find one) - and close to lake parks,etc.

Google maps can help you compare commute times (has option to INCLUDE rush-hour history, etc)

I35E from Denton to IH635 is nearing completion of expansion (will be DONE at end of AUGUST) so commute will actually IMPROVE in this neck of the woods. 35Express Project
