I really want to stop asking everybody if certain areas of Dallas are good or which areas are better. So is there some online area I can get this crime info or crime reports?

Post Crime stats

I would call the local police office for whatever area you're considering moving too; ask them yearly number for each type of crimes committed. No where is 1% safe, you have to stay on you P's and Q's.

Default Tons of crime in dallas

Wow! I am surprised after looking at the Dallas crime map.

There appears to be a lot of sex offenders living in the area. Also many bugleraries, thefts, and assaults. Especially in the areas where rent is least expensive.

Yeah, you will need to look further away from the downtown area, for a low crime rate.

I like this site but not all police departments participate in it. So the figures aren't accurate. They do have a feature where you can ask for your own police department to participate. Just follow the link on the site and input the police dept.

I just want to pipe in here. You have to keep in mind when looking at a crime report, if you see a vehicle stolen, things like - son took the car without permission gets reported as a stolen vehicle. Shoplifting would be reported, minor things that wouldnt typically scare you would be reported the same as something that would. A fight or agument between neighbors will be reported as an assault, even if noone was touched. Depending. But it looks like people are walking down the street getting assaulted. So sometimes you have to take them with a bit of a grain of salt...DH is a cop and tells me these kinds of details.
