Those don't even look like "houses". They look like they're all connected, which would be a townhouse. They're ugly.

I can hear it: I'm gonna mow the roof, honey! - or - Can't you kids play ball on someone else's roof? In all seriousness, I think it's a cool concept, and wouldn't mind if I lived near it, but I wouldn't want to live there. Too many unanswered questions about the roof, the materials, water, animals, etc.

It takes a ton of work to keep grass that green and healthy and what they show would not be considered native grasses. Klyde Warren is routinely replacing entire sections of lawn. Will that be part of the HOA maintenance fees? Prairie grasses would work better but not look anywhere near as manicured and green. The BRIT roof in Fort Worth is maintained daily by experts in their field. It's a good example of the reality vs. those Frisco renderings done in China.

When I worked at Northlake College in the early 2000s part of the school had a living roof which leaked a lot. Hopefully the technology has improved.

A developer from India and the houses start at $900,000.

Grass and native plants means a sprinkler system.

Good luck with that, This ain't California.

I just don't see people buying something like that for $900k. It's an incredibly pricey gamble. If it doesn't go well, your values will plummet and you'll be fighting the builder for years to fix issues, assuming the builder/developer isn't bankrupt at that point.
